After experiencing a hip injury in 2013, which resulted in chronic pain and the eventual sale of her successful dance studio, she discovered Hanna Somatic Education. This approach became her primary means of managing daily pain. By mastering the techniques of Hanna Somatics, Nikki has regained her freedom of movement and learned to live with her condition.
Nikki developed and presently leads the Somatic Exercise Teacher Training program. Rooted in the principles and traditions of Hanna Somatics, this professional training is offered both online and in-person across North America. Additionally, the program is pre-approved for continuing education credits by several associations and organizations, including NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork). Nikki’s vision is to cultivate and grow the Somatic community by teaching body workers and health professionals the fundamentals of Hanna Somatics and empowering them to share this knowledge with their clients. She envisions a future where Somatic Exercise and Movement classes are just as accessible as yoga classes. |
